Open Letter from Health Professionals Expressing Concern Around NSW Framework for Gender Treatment
In an open letter to NSW MPs, more than 35 psychiatrists, psychologists and doctors criticised the government’s decision to appoint the Sax Institute to undertake a review which formed the basis of the NSW framework, questioning the “validity and reliability” of the evidence they used to support the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for children and young people.
Landmark inquiry into gay hate crimes in NSW concludes
In 2022, an 18-month state inquiry in NSW was established to investigate unsolved deaths that occurred between 1970 and 2010 where the victim was same-sex attracted (LGB) or transgender-identified. Most of the victims identified in the inquiry were gay or bisexual men.
LGB Alliance Australia Calls for Fair Treatment of Same-Sex Couples at School Formals
We at LGB Alliance Australia are deeply concerned about an incident at St. Ursula's College where a Year 12 student was prohibited from bringing her girlfriend to the school formal. This blatant act of discrimination is not only unjust but also harmful to the well-being of students.
We have written to the principal to let them know this is unacceptable.
Protecting LGB Victorians from vilification
LGB Alliance Australia made a submission in response to the Victorian Government's proposal to amend the state's anti-vilification legislation. Although we support the premise, we have concerns.
